Missing Jewel from the Fairy Crown

Today we will pay a tiny visit into Fairyland. Our lead character is Tanya. With golden locks in her hair, blue eyes and rosy pink cheeks, Tanya was the parents' darling. She was a bubbly fairy who resided in the beautiful world of fairies somewhere between the big sphere called Earth and vast Sky. She used to often hop on to several of her colorful ponies one after the other shrieking of joy and playfulness during her holidays. Yes, fairy schools have holidays too! But I bet most of you know that. 😊

Apart from pony riding and playing on vast grass clad green grounds, she had a hobby of being curious. Yes, her inquisitiveness not only made her a very active thinker but also a problem solver. Just like Maudie in the program The Inbestigators, she used to love finding stuff that was often misplaced, lost, hidden and seldom stolen.

One afternoon, after lunch she took her favorite Rainbow Magic book in the ground and plopped herself under a big apple tree. The apples above her head twinkled as if telling her to rest a little till they ripen a little more. She had just begun reading when she heard some commotion coming from a distance. As she turned n looked around, there were 4 fairies talking gibberish. Now, it didn't seem like a happy chat. As they all looked tensed. Their wings looked sunken and flight was not up to the mark. When Tanya got near them, she realized they were all talking about the Queen Fairy Crown. She had only seen it in epaper photos and news. She had never got a chance to even meet the Queen Fairy. Although she would love to. Brushing off her thoughts, she asked "What's the matter, O lovely fairies?" They almost shrugged and continued talking as if not willing to share. But Tanya being Tanya pursued the question again. This time the fairy in the lilac dress was kind enough to answer.. "Our Queen Fairy's Crown is missing a jewel. She is very upset and all her aides are helping her look for it. Don't get involved in it. It's not a matter for a child fairy."

Tanya felt blood rushing through her idle hands, legs n brain. She at once jumped and started flying toward Queen Fairy's palace with her delicate wings. Tanya reached the palace, but the guards thought she was just another fairy trying to get into the palace on a pretext. When the King Fairy saw the intercom flashing, he summoned Tanya in. Tanya went in politely and told them that she would like to help in finding the jewel. Now both the King and Queen were amused at the confidence this little fairy had. After all she looked very young to be a Detective of any kind. Yet, the couple entertained her. Tanya was super happy that she was not only able to meet the royal couple but also got a chance to help them. She quickly took her diary with the Unicorn cover and started taking notes.

Tanya asked the Queen about her whereabouts wearing the crown in the last few days. She learnt that the Queen had went to a Fairy Naming Ceremony and that's where she had worn the crown last. Although the Queen had placed the crown on its usual spot after coming back, she had not noticed if the Lavender colored jewel had gone missing the same evening. It was just today when she realized that the crown was missing the penny sized jewel that used to be on the left side of the crown. The King had promptly sent his men to search the party hall that the Queen attended last week but they had come empty handed. They had also duly checked the chariot's nook n corner along with the palatial rooms. Now Tanya's curiosity was at an extreme high point. She was sure that the jewel was somewhere in the palace as someone would have definitely noticed if it was lying somewhere. After all, its not something that can be missed easily. After talking to the helpers of the palace she realized that the queen had left the crown in the living room for a few minutes where the little princess fairy was doing her craft activity. Once the queen attended to the message brought by one of her trusted helpers she quickly started to get ready for the oncoming reception. It was then, that she noticed her reflection in the mirror and realized that her crown was different. It made her very upset that the family heirloom was damaged because of her carelessness.

On listening to all this, Tanya was mentally drawing a map of activities with the help of her notes. She knew that all the helpers were searched so it was not a case of theft, but simple misplacement. Suddenly her eyes brightened and she wanted to see the little princess fairy's craft work. The King and Queen were disappointed and thought, alas Tanya was just a child who wanted to make friends with their daughter. They led her to the Princess Fairy's room.

It sparkled with glittery curtains and pastel fabrics. Her craft material was scattered in a corner as she had to shift her project to her room as soon as the crown jewel went missing.

The princess was making a wand for herself that she wanted to do magic with. When Tanya asked if she could see the wand, the little princess fairy joyfully showed it. And right there, in the center of the glittery wand, the lavender jewel glistened in the bright light!!! The Kind and Queen were overjoyed. The queen couldn't believe that it was right there and they were looking for it in all sorts of places. When the parents hugged the little fairy princess, she was excited as if she had helped them find it.. In a way she did!!. But how?

Only Tanya could answer. Upon being asked, why did she think the jewel would be with the little fairy, Tanya was super happy to answer. When the queen fairy had left the crown to attend to the message, the little one was doing some craft. She had access to glue among other things. The jewel was probably a little loose and had fallen down when the queen kept it in a hurry. The little fairy picked it and used it in her wand like any other shiny craft ensemble. It did not even occur to her that it was such a precious gem that had gone missing. And nobody cared to ask her thinking that she is way to small to understand about jewelry or crown.

Tanya had solved the mystery about the lost jewel with her active mindedness and curiosity filled questions. She was jubilant when the Queen gave her a string of Lavender pearls as a gift for all the help. As she took a little flight back to the apple tree, her pearl necklace hugged her tight as if enjoying the cool breeze just like her!
